HDL And LDL's

Our body produces two types of cholesterols and they are called HDL and LDL.

It's normal to have cholesterols in our blood because they are essential for our normal well being as a human. But that is only true to a certain extent because we don't need too much LDL in our blood. Anything above 200mg/dl is considered hazardous and might get our arteries clogged. This would cause a lot of heart related complications.

And we need at least 20mg/dl of HDL in our blood level to make sure that our heart function properly. Now that it is clear that you don't need much LDL, so what are the things that you can do to make sure that you won't have too much of it?

LDL is produced when we are under stressful condition. We all know it very well because almost everyone might face a stressful situation once in a while. Some might argue that stress can lead to increased productivity, but that doesn't mean they will be good for your heart and other life issues.

It can be hard to not feel stress if you're having a hard time at work. It could be a deadline for a task that you're supposed to finish last night or pressure from a superior in office who is finding fault with everyone in your workplace. But that's not all because you might have personal issues to handle too. Well, we wouldn't be able to avoid them but you need to think positively and stay optimistic for every problem that you have. There will always be a solution.

I have a friend who has a bad habit of eating uncontrollably whenever she is under stressful situation. Well, that's definitely not a proper way to handle your stress. It would have been better to handle the root of the problem and explain in a proper manner so that both parties will understand each other.

Don't ever bring your problem at work to your home and cause a bigger problem at home because that's obviously is not going to be fair for everyone. You should approach your spouse and she might be able to help you feel better with any suggestions that she gives you.

Make it as a habit to exercise at least 20 to 30 minutes everyday so that you can help your heart to stay active. Our heart is a funny organ because it will be healthier when you keep it active. It doesn't matter if you're just brisk walking or getting involved with high performance sports like basketball or swimming because these activities allow you to move your muscles.

Eat healthily and do not fall for any fast food ads that you see on TV. They might seem delicious but you need to know that most of them contain ingredients that don't contribute to your general health and well being. Stick to foods that are proven to be nutritious and free from excessive usage of growth hormones and artificial flavor.

Follow these simple tips and you will be well on your way to lowering your cholesterol levels.
